Reflection Questions:

  1. Laetare is a latin word meaning “Rejoice”. As the author points out, Laetare Sunday is the midway point between Ash Wednesday and Easter. How does it feel to pause to rejoice in the middle of this Lenten season?

  2. As you consider your normal disposition, do you tend to be more tuned into the joys or griefs of life? Are you more of a glass half full or glass half empty kind of person?

  3. How does God invite you to greater awareness and encourage you to experience both joy and grief?

Spiritual Practice: Journaling

Journaling is a tool that helps us to reflect intentionally on our heart and condition of our souls from day to day. There is something significant about the act of writing something down that can be different than simply thinking about it. For some, journaling is an easy and natural practice. For others, it is awkward and difficult to keep consistent.

Whatever your history with journaling is, we invite you to take some time to journal about the questions above or simply reflect on this Lenten season to date. What has God been showing you? May God meet with you as you journal this week.
