Pastor Ken Tang-Quan
Pastor Ken Tang-Quan has been serving as Senior Pastor of Palos Verdes Baptist Church since 1994. He was previously an associate pastor in Seattle for 8 years and has also ministered as a teacher at a Christian school, both at the elementary school and junior high/high school levels. A graduate of UC Berkeley (B.A. in Psychology) and Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M. in Christian Education), he has also done postgraduate study at Talbot School of Theology.
Pastor Ken and his wife, Debbie, have three children: Sharon, Karis, and David. Pastor Ken enjoys reading, table tennis, and cheering his children on in following God’s calling to make Christ the center of their lives.
Ben Friedman, Youth Director
Originally from New Jersey, and a graduate of the University of Alabama, Ben came to Southern California in July, 2014. His passion is for the youth at PVBC to gain a "30,000 foot view" of God. He married his beautiful wife, Stephanie, in January 2014 and the two of them currently live in Torrance. Ben's hobbies include reading, running, and just about anything outdoors. Ben is currently a student at Golden Gate Baptist Theological seminary, in the Masters of Divinity program.
Hannah Akiyama, Children's Ministry Intern
Hannah Akiyama grew up attending PVBC and has always loved working with children. She has previously served as an aide and co-teacher in Sunday School during high school and is excited to be able to serve as the summer intern! Hannah enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Hannah most recently graduated from Pepperdine University with a BS in business administration and a computer science minor and is looking forward to serving as a missionary in Mexico the upcoming year.
