PositioN:

The primary objective of this position shall be the implementation of programs that nurture children (from birth through 5th grade) in their faith journey and enable each child of PVBC to develop a close life-long relationship with Jesus Christ.

Scope:

20 hours/week with Sunday morning and potential weekday/evening programs. Reports directly to the Senior Pastor. Responsible for a team of Children’s Ministry volunteer workers.

Salary Range: $28,400

Attractive compensation, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

The CM Director will be responsible for designing and implementing a ministry that reaches out to the children in the church as well as to children in the wider community, including implementing and overseeing such programs as Sunday School, children’s Bible studies, outreach events, and vacation bible school.

  • Teach and lead children into a deeper relationship with Jesus

  • Recruit, prepare, train, encourage, and motivate volunteers

  • Fulfill pastoral responsibilities for the children, including visiting and counseling

  • Handle administrative responsibility and policy development for budget, equipment, supplies, facilities, record keeping and safety

  • Ability to develop a budget and operate within an approved budget.

Qualifications:

The CM Director with the following qualifications is desired:

  • Mature, motivated individual and a committed Christian

  • Children’s Ministry experience preferred

  • Desire to serve children and their parents

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience

  • Experience and/or course work that includes psychosocial and faith development of children from birth to 12 years of age.
