Pastor Ken Tang-Quan
Pastor Ken Tang-Quan has been serving as Senior Pastor of Palos Verdes Baptist Church since 1994. He was previously an associate pastor in Seattle for 8 years and has also ministered as a teacher at a Christian school, both at the elementary school and junior high/high school levels. A graduate of UC Berkeley (B.A. in Psychology) and Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M. in Christian Education), he has also done postgraduate study at Talbot School of Theology.
Pastor Ken and his wife, Debbie, have three children: Sharon, Karis, and David. Pastor Ken enjoys reading, table tennis, and cheering his children on in following God’s calling to make Christ the center of their lives.
Linda Okumura - Children’s Ministry Co-Director
Linda Okumura has attended Palos Verdes Baptist Church since 1990. Over the years she has served in various capacities including: Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, junior/senior high school small group leader, PVBC Osaka missions team leader, and PVBC Board of Deacons member.
Linda has dedicated much of her life to the field of education. She graduated from USC with a BS degree in Education and completed an MA degree from CSUN, specializing in Early Childhood Education. She taught in infant/toddler, preschool, and elementary schools for over 30 years and was a college instructor for child development and teacher training. She has worked with every age group from infants to adults! Upon her recent retirement, Linda currently works as an in-home tutor and school volunteer.
Linda and her husband, Donn, have two children, Stefanie and Sean, and a daughter-in-law, Katie. In her free time she enjoys reading, line dancing, watching USC football and Lakers games, and going to Disneyland. Linda is excited about sharing God’s love with children and supporting their families in following Christ.
John Lee - Youth Intern
John is currently studying for his M.Div. at Talbot School of Theology with a focus on Pastoral and General Ministries. He started as a Director of Children’s Ministry in Sunnyvale, then became a Children’s Pastor in San Jose. He has served as a college ministry volunteer in Los Gatos and as a youth volunteer in Anaheim. He also works full-time in the video game industry for content marketing.
John enjoys traveling around the world, tasting exotic cuisines, playing board games and gaming in general. So whether it’s playing Catan, eating savory crepes, taking random road trips, or playing arcade games, he enjoys new experiences with friends.
But above all, John’s passion is for others to experience the fullness of knowing Christ here, there and everywhere.
Shekinah Corea - Ministry Intern
Shekinah has been serving in youth ministry for 4 years. She was the worship leader and one of a team of student leaders at Hope Chapel Hermosa Beach. She is currently a student at Biola University as a Public Relations major with a concentration in entertainment and events. Shekinah also works as a Wedding Coordinator for a cruise line in her spare time.
Shekinah is the oldest sibling of three in her family. She enjoys writing stories and music as well as playing the guitar and singing. But Shekinah's passion is worshiping God and using her gifts to bring others closer to Him.
